This is a working version of the new state machine code for AX25 under Linux. It is closely based on the SDL diagrams published in the ARRL 7th Computer Networking Conference papers, and they should be referred to when reading the code, notably the stuff in ax25_in.c. The next stage is to separate the ax25 control block from the socket and then add NET/ROM and connected mode IP. I would also like to add the extended AX25 designed by a Dutch station which allows for window sizes up to 127. This code will work the same as the old code, although the display in /proc/net/ax25 is a little different, but should be understandable. Please give this code a work out and report any bugs to me either at jsn@cs.nott.ac.uk or at GB7DAD.GBR.EU. This code has taught me a lot about the internals of the networking side of Linux especially skbuff handling and I now feel happy about implementing the higher level protocols. 73's Jonathan
